Punta Divers/Punta del Este, February 1996, Lloyd Baker, Washington, DC. DecMar operation that conducts scuba lessons for wealthy Argentines and Brazilians. Slow, impersonal, indifferent. SPG on 2 rental regs broken. Told to arrive at shop at 10:00 am; didn t leave until 12:30 pm. Four divers, one dive guide and the skipper. 45-minute ride to Isla de Lobos, one of largest sea lion sanctuaries in the Southern Hemisphere. No dive briefing, but you follow the anchor line and kneel on a rocky bottom in 1518 ft. of water with 35 ft. vis (6065) and watch a dozen sea lions dive bomb you for as long as you want. Dive guide no where to be found. Upon return to the shop, they said they left our C-cards on another dive boat and we had to pick them up the next day.
