Jais Aben, July 1995, Walter Brenner, Wayne, PA. "Most diving in or near Madang Harbor on the North Coast near resort. Interesting wrecks including a B-25 Mitchell Bomber from WWII. Vis: 60­100 ft. Lots of colorful life: feather stars, basket stars, clown triggers. Except for turtles, no pelagics. Big attraction is little stuff: many nudibranchs, flat worms, stars of every color, snails, pencil urchins. A macro photographer's delight. Terrific night dives on the wrecks and reefs - many lobster, firefish, nudis, snails, including the deadly textile cone! Water in the low 80's - need lycra for jellyfish protection. Weather mostly sunny, but some cloudiness and one rainy day. Jais Aben is superbly run; lovely grounds, rustic, open air dining, large cabins with fans, no bugs, gourmet food, friendly, helpful, competent staff."

Jais Aben Dive Shop/Malolo Plantation Hotel, May 1996, J. M. Duran, M.D., Corpus Christ, TX. "Malolo Plantation Lodge was beautiful. My wife and I had the resort to ourselves during our four days. Service very good, including a special dinner with table arrangement of orchids from garden under our balcony. Resident hornbills enlivened meals. . . . Divemaster was on vacation, so we dived with Jais Aben Dive Shop (Malolo made arrangements and provided transportation). Had boat/divemaster for ourselves most dives. First-class dive shop/operation. Malalo divemaster for Malolo returned on our last day; liked him and his plans for the operation. Water: 80­82 Degrees, Vis: 40 to 70 Feet."

Walindi Plantation, May 1995, Steve Chandler, Walnut, CA. "Go November/December when clarity is best. May is transition from the rainy to dry season, characterized by lack of trade winds. The number and variety of hard and soft corals, reef fish, pelagics exceeds Fiji or Micronesia."
