Aguas Claras/Fernando de Noronha, January 1996, Lloyd Baker, Washington, DC. "Islands 500 km east of Recife; largest a National Marine Park. One dive operation on the island. . . . Good service: they provided transport from my posada to boat and back. Rental equipment in satisfactory condition. First dive was a 1 hour run on a slow boat with 7 divers, a guide and 2 crew. First dive undamaged coral, lots of tropicals, several rays and turtles and 2 nurse sharks. Good vis; second a bust - poor vis, few fish. Two tank boat dive including BC, regulator: $75 U.S. Water: 8084. . . . Brazil is one of the most expensive countries to travel in South America."
