Diver to Diver > Dive Gear

New Gear... HELP!!

I've been out of diving for about 12 years now and getting back in. In 90 when I first began diving US Divers was pretty much top of the line and they were slugging it out with Scuba pro. Mares was just starting to burst onto the scene.  Now that I am getting back into it after a change in marital status that allows me the freedom again I once enjoyed ;) I am completely out of the loop as far as reliable equipment goes. After a few days of exhausting research online, I believe that Oceanic may be my new gear provider of choice.
It seems that in each class, their products are either right at our near the top (at least the top 3) of all choices. Here are what my plans are at this time for my gear choices, I would appreciate cander in evaluating my choices, this forum's advice is highly valued:
BC: Oceanic Excursion
Reg: Oceanic EOS
Octo: Oceanic Slimline 2
Comp: Oceanic Pro + 2.1
Fins: Oceanic Vortex V-16 or Scubapro Drawing Nova

OK, just spent time at a LDS. Appers Oceanic is not a top choice after all?????
