Curacao

We like all inclusives and stayed at Breezes a few yrs ago. Had a great time including free shore diving, but the resort seems to be getting a few shaky reviews now. Any current info on other all inclusives on Curacao?

Spent 10 days at Sunset Waters last March and really enjoyed it.  The resort staff is fabulous, the dive staff is pretty darn good, diving enjoyable and easier site travel time from this end of the island.  Decent house reef for snorkeling or diving available 24/7.  Resort had reports of spotty food and "tired"- but found neither to be true- we really liked our stay and would go back.  Weakest point is quality of diving in Curacao as compared to other islands like Coz which is my benchmark.  Can give more details if you need.

Thanks for your reply. I've been to Cozumel and really enjoyed that too....love the drift diving. However, the wife has trouble equallizing...hard to do while drifting and trying to descend, so we haven't been back.
What we enjoyed about Breezes was the variety of entertainment. Does Sunset Waters have much going on besides diving?

Each night they have some different form of entertainment over a 7 day timeline.  They will bring in various musicians of the island about 4 times, have a dj a couple of nights plus karaoke, dance lessons, and a bonfire and cookout on the beach.  Google Sunset Waters and they might explain more.  The house reef has minimal current and we only had one drift dive over the ten days we were there (really only dove 7 days of the 10) diving the northwest side of the island.  Although a bit isolated on the more remote west side of the island, the resort offers daily free shuttles to town each mid day and at least one night a week they plan an evening excursion into town to a casino.

P.S. Worth mentioning and going along with the staff's emphasis on service- during the time we were there, several guests had some personal emergencies that required getting around the island at odd times versus the resort's set times for travel excursions.  The manager and staff really stepped to the plate to help the guests out getting them to where they needed to go, not just calling a cab.  Then the manager followed up again to be sure each guest was alright.  I saw this at least twice.  If there was a fault in all of this, sometimes the bus shuttle was late.  I still think kudos should be heaped on the manager and staff of Sunset Waters.

Glad to help out.  Give SW a look see on their web page.  Use some other travel forums to search as well.  Just look past the comments about the resort being run down and poor food, since we did not find this to be the case.  The food was not gourmet, but pretty darn good.  Some nights were ordering off the menu and others buffet.  The all inclusive is the best way to go.  My wife loved the simple and decent shore diving- that and staffing to me were the major selling points.  I also liked being out of town and the fact that it was mostly divers at the resort.
