I want to go to the Philippines.  Can anyone share info on SAFE regions/terrorism and the best months and places to visit?

Best place are: Puerto Galera, two hour drive south of Manila, +45 min boat ride. The most varied diving you can find in one location! Action Divers on Little LaLaguna beach, Gapr. Gregg's on Sabang Beach. Sabang for the night-life, Little LaLaguna more quieter.
Anilao; Two hour drive south of Manila, Planet Dive is one place, Arthurs place is another  * If you are the only one to dive that day, you end up renting the entire boat in Anilao, if there are others, you share costs!
Subic bay Again a two hour drive north of Manila, Known for it's wreck dives Try Johan's or Boardwalk for dive/hotel places. They prefer Nitrox certification, and will offer the course.
Bohol, in the central region is an airplane flight away, either to Tagbilaren or Cebu. If you fly into cebu, you need to take the ferry boat to Tagbilaren the taxi over to Panglao Is. Alona beach! Isis bungalows is one place to stay.

Learned to dive in Boracay in the Philippines. Have dove mostly local quarries since, but I have dove in Puerto Galera, Mactan Is, and Bohol Is., all in the Philippines. Great diving if you get a chance!

How about diving late July??   I have a chance to go and I know it is the rainy season.  But I heard that visibility is better.  Assuming that there is not a typhoon.  Any knowledge of diving at that time of year?

Thanks,
Craig

Haven't been there in july.
if you go to the central region, I'm told the Typhoon's don't come there often.Bohol, or Moalboal would be great choices

Hallo,
have a look at Atmosphere Resort at Dauin, Negros Island, just opposite of APO Island. Great accommodation, food and diving. Have been there in July, weather OK.
