Bocas del Toro, Panama
« on: November 08, 2010, 19:25:02 UTC »
Anyone dive here?  We are headed for a catamaran cruise in April and are considering going up (down?) a few days early for some extra diving, but can't find any info in the chapbooks or forum.

thanks much,
Anne

Hi Anne,

The first link is public, very informative and will allow you to ask your questions to a knowledgeable audience.

Central America

The second link is Undercurrent member only for reports newer that 2007.  You'll see some older reports on Bocas del Toro.

Have a great time.

Thanks Doc, looks like Bocas Watersports would be a good place to start!

See the latest issue of Undercurrent.  We went to Bocas 4 years ago and thought the diving sucked.  There is much to like about Panama and the Bocas islands, but not diving.

The current issue does not mention the crazy boat drivers all around the islands.  Lots of water taxies, fisherman and just general boat traffice.  After a couple of days I did not want to be in the water, except way out at the end of Bastiamentos which was pretty quiet, but still not good diving.
