Recommendatons sought for Raja Ampat live-aboards
« on: September 02, 2010, 05:33:38 UTC »
I am keen to go to Raja Ampat in 2011.  Would appreciate anyones feedback and recommendations on the best live-aboards plying the area.

Hi, I spent two weeks aboard the Sea Horse last December and am returning December 2011.  I can't say enough good things about them.  Among other things, they went to Triton Bay.  I believe, at the time, they were the only boat that traveled there.  Let me know if you want to see photos of the area.

For service & comfort it's hard to go wrong with Paradise Dancer. Personally two trips one to Raja & one Lembeh since launch.

Hi Kay,

Here's the trip report from my last diving there this spring:

i was on the Paradise Dancer last Feb. and was extremely pleased.  it is a very long trip to get there, but once there the diving is  fabulous.  safety is excellent, crew are very friendly and professional, food is very good but not great, staterooms are very comfortable
buy a copy of "Diving Raja Ampat" by Burt Jones & Maurine Shimlock to get a good description of the diving and area.
i believe that the Agressor Fleet is now affiliated with this livaboard.
have a great trip.

Just returned from a cruise on the Paradise Dancer. We have been on many live aboards...and this one far and above exceeds all expectations. Great boat and crew, hard and soft coral, and fish life. Although it is more expensive than others, it is well worth the money.
