Reef Hooks
« on: July 16, 2010, 02:16:57 UTC »
I'm planning a trip to Palau and I've read a lot of pro and con comments regarding reef hooks. I've been diving in Cozumel without much issue. I certainly don't want to hurt the reef, but I also don't want to discard a really useful tool if it can be used without reef damage.

You'll be wanting one in Palau, especially if Blue corner's flowing fully! Hook onto rock not reef and enjoy the show....

Invaluable there.

a reef hook is a MUST HAVE in palau.  don't worry, you don't do any damage because you only hook into dead rock.  you'll never be able to stand in the wind of blue corner without a hook!  and you don't want to miss blue corner!

without a reef hook on some of the dives in Palau you'll enjoy a free trip to the Philippines! Hook in to a nice crevice and enjoy the parade of sharks. One of the last places on earth you can see so many at one time.
