Top snorkeling locations with older kids?
« on: October 20, 2009, 02:44:01 UTC »
Ok after many years of diving on my own, the kids are now getting interested - not quite ready for scuba, but some really good snorkeling/freediving would be a great way to spend a week this swim.

Favorite dive sites tend not be great for more laidback snorkeling.

Suggested locations in wider Caribbean/eastern pacific would be greatly appreciated.

The Riviera Maya around Playa del Carmen is a good, affordable destination; there are parks such as Xel-Ha and Xcaret, the cenotes, and other activities in case they need a break, or are too sunburned, from snorkeling.

Hi,
Just curious where did you stay in Cancun and how far the snorkeling was from hotel. Looking for a place to go with my 8 years old grandson who is a good snorkeler since 4.

Hi,
Did you end up going snorkeling and is so, where and how did you like it.
Thanks,
Makar
