Laguna Beach Resort, Utila
« on: June 15, 2009, 15:38:29 UTC »
My friends and I spent the last week at Laguna Beach Resort. Money was taken out of our safe by simply removing the battery. Also, the extra keys to rooms are left on the bar. Anyone can have access to them.

Looks like a spot I will avoid!
I endeavor to pursue....Spend most of my diving time in the Indo-Pacific region. Lembeh Straits, Raja Ampat and Palau are my favorites!

Yikes - and that's the featured resort in this issue of Undercurrent.

Man, we had a great time there about 5 years ago.  The diving was pretty good, and the resort was top notch at that time.  Illustrates how much these places can change over the course of a few months or years and why recent reviews are important!

Sounds like issues that need to be brought to management's attention. Utila is a very laid back place and the resort is pretty isolated from the town. I visit Utila regularly and have known the Boddens (owners of Laguna Beach) since 1986. They try very hard to offer a first class and personal service and would be very concerned about your feedback. I dive with them some each time I am on the island as they have the best boats and one of the most organized operations available there. I'll make sure they see your post so that they can address your concerns if they haven't already done so.
