PNG: Kimbe Bay -or- Milne Bay
« on: July 29, 2008, 05:11:27 UTC »
We have the opportunity to go to PNG in January with peter Hughes to Kimbe Bay - or - with Spirit of Niugini to Milne Bay.  Is one area better than the other?

There is no bad diving in PNG. Milne Bay has it all, wrecks, big fish, little fish, muck creatures. The Kimbe-Rabaul haul has wrecks and big fish, less muck diving. It's up to you. Be prepared to go back to do all the areas.

The Star Dancer is probably doing the South Coast of West New Britain during this time.

There is a little bit of everything but the diving does not suit all.  This is the place where Howard Hall did some of his filming (he charter the Stardancer) for his next IMAX movie (currently in the making)

Diving is not for all but I found it exciting stuff
