We had been hearing humpback songs all through the dive, but suddenly we were hearing deep thumps, so deep that you could feel them like someone was thumping your chest. Visibility was about 100 feet. A few minutes after the thumps, out of the distance came this large gray object. He swam by about 25 feet away, went past 100-150 feet, made a u-turn then made another 25 foot pass. A truly amazing experience and probably once-in-a-lifetime...but I hope not.
