Comments See my Dec 2012 report and Mark Gwinnett's Dec 2013 for more details. All comments from both reports still pretty much apply. Visibility was 40-60 on most dives because of a lot of plankton in the water. On the bright side, October IS hurricane season, so to get a week with light winds, almost flat seas and no rain is remarkable. Had some cruise ship divers on two days, but all but one couple were very experienced, and the DM and captain handled the newbies with care and the rest of us weren't inconvenienced in any way. I dove five days, with mix of wrecks and reefs. Last day, did a large deep wreck on NITROX. I was first down the anchor line, and while observing a school (13) of queen triggerfish, a small nurse shark suddenly swam up to me and chomped down on my dive computer (inches from my hand). It immediately spit it out and swam away. Definitely the highlight of the week. Big schools of various snappers and jacks on the wrecks (mostly WW II era barges). Some of the shallower reefs have lots of healthy hard and soft corals. At 85-86, this is the warmest water I've ever dived in the Caribbean. I wore a wetsuit for protection more than warmth. I was able to dive my profile on every dive (most an hour except deep dive). As I mentioned in my previous review, they don't advertise or have contracts with cruise ships, so the divers that find them (website, Facebook, Trip Advisor) make their own arrangements. Also get some locals. Five-day, 10-tank package was $455; $12 for the NITROX tank. I plan to return next year.
