Comments I found Blue Island Divers from Trip Advisor reports, then searched Undercurrent reviews (latest was 2008). Went to web site, then sent email a few months ahead and got a prompt reply from Killian. I had indicated I wanted to do wrecks and deep dives, not "baby" dives and they have been happy to accomodate that request. The boat does pick up cruise ship divers, but most of these are good divers since BID doesn't have contracts/arrangements with any cruise lines, so divers find them by word of mouth and good reviews. Today was my 5th day of diving, with several large wrecks, beautiful reefs and wide assortment of the usual tropical fish. I plan to do more dives this week. NITROX available. I've gone on the morning dives, but they do schedule 1:30 trips if sufficient number of bookings. Leaves from Crown Bay Marina (west side of harbor), so they can quickly reach the west side dive sites. Never had to share a site with another dive boat. Only water (no snacks) provided, but there is a grocery and restaurant at the marina where you can get breakfast, lunch, snacks. Nice restrooms with showers at marina and free parking. Never rushed on a dive; if you've got air, you can spend time around the boat if others have run out and surfaced. I got 80 minutes on a first dive while DM was teaching a Discover Diving student and others were snorkeling at the end of the dive. DMs look for lionfish to kill, so the sites they frequent are relatively "clean", but we spotted 7 or 8 on one dive today and the DM got at least 4. I wouldn't have thought of St. Thomas as a diving destination (I'm staying on a timeshare exchange) and have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety of diving. Killian, Pauli and G (DMs) have made me want to come back next year! Weather can be changeable in December; had some wind last week, some showers passed through, but generally sunny with some clouds. They will rinse and store your gear overnight if your diving with them again; rental gear looks in good condition.
