Comments This is a great shore dive we have been doing for years as there is always something different here! All the usual fish- angels; intermed, juv., and adult, cudas, butterflys, puffers, parrots, spotted and sharp tail eels, filefishes, triggers, and the unusual- bat fish, flying gurnards, pipefish, pike blennies, star gazers, frog fish, large colorful sea horses, nurse sharks, spotted eagle squadrons, sea robins, playful octopi, manatee on occassion, and the occassional turtle, and on and on. It is a shore entry on a public sand beach, and is only done at slack high tide. We monitor the site on FB so we know when the viz is good- it varies from 5 ft to over 60 ft. We get in about 45 minutes before high tide and work our way to the bridge, arriving there about high tide- before high tide the current is strong and the viz bad. You can get close to a 2 hr dive here when it's warm in the summer as the max. depth is 25 ft. The down side is that it has become so popular that you have to arrive early to park, and unfortunately, dive shops use it to train students and so it gets a lot of "wear".
