Comments We've dived with Ocean Divers in Key Largo since '04 and this trip was just as great. Weather was forecast to be windy with 4-6 seas beyond the reefs. Turned out to be bright sun, calm breeze and the lightest of chop with a slight current for our dive days! How lucky is that!

We dived the Spiegel Grove for our first time - and used an Ocean Divers guide just for safety. Vis. was only about 30-35 ft. max. with a light current. Bottom time was only 20 minutes at 95ft. but it was an interesting dive. We also visited the usual spots - Benwood Wreck, French Reef and others. All reef dives had 70-80ft. vis. and lots of marine life including green and spotted moray eels. Corals were abundant and healthy and lots of fun to channel through. French Reef also has several caves and a couple of good swim-thrus, the best of which is Christmas Tree Cave. It's full of Glassy Sweepers and an easy swim. Depths on all these reefs are 20-50 ft.

Marine life on the Benwood Wreck was the best I have seen. Lots of Trumpetfish hanging under the iron hull sides. Even had a large group of 4ft. Barracudas check us out.

Ocean Divers has two large boats, the Santana and the Ocean Diver. DMs Hans and Mike were very thorough with briefings and very attentive to anyone's needs. OD does a lot of IDC classes and almost always has instructors aboard the charters doing individual certification dives. Boats are super clean, wide, and easy to move around. The week we were there it was not crowded with boats only half full at most.

Anyone considering diving in the upper Florida keys will be well served by Ocean Divers. 32% banked Nitrox is readily available. They have a full service shop where the boats are and another full store on HWY 1 in north Key Largo. We'll go back to them again for sure.
