Comments Spent three days (six dives) with Capt. Bobby Cox and the Diver Down in Atlantic Beach, NC. The boat crew was efficient and attentive. I was addressed by my first name and certainly didn't feel like a cattle boat number. The boat is rigged with a tag line and hang line underneath.

The Capt. gave good briefings about the wrecks and included a history of the site as well. The crew and the divers had good interaction and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Roll call was taken before leaving the dock and after every dive. Diver's entry times were logged on every dive. Everyone on the boat was using Nitrox.

The Diver Down is not a luxury craft but a good solid performer. The attitude of the crew makes up for any shortcomings.

Stayed at the Fishermans Inn, which is a budget motel just down the dock from the Diver Down. The rooms were clean and quiet. The owner/manager is very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Coffee is available on the dock every morning.
