Comments Bill Tewes, proprietor of Dive St. Vincent, is one of the best dive masters I've ever dived with. He's not only great at finding things, he identifies them to you underwater via a slate. He takes great pains to make sure you get good shots. There are a lot of rare and unusual creatures (mainly small) around St. Vincent -- Bill seems to be intimate with all of them. This was my third trip to St. Vincent, diving with Bill; I'm already planning another one.

This is the best place for macro photography in the Caribbean. The combination of the presence of all these unusual creatures and a top-notch dive outfit is unbeatable.

Young Island Resort is perhaps a bit on the expensive side, but a really nice place. The lower-priced rooms are a bit rustic, but nicely appointed. The food is good -- excellent compared to most dive resorts in the caribbean. Its wine list, however, could be improved -- wines are expensive and not terribly exciting.

UW Photo Comments The rinse facilities on the boats were adequate, but no more than that. Fortunately it doesn't really matter, since you aren't on the boat for any great period of time.
