Comments the bad: to save money, you can take the public bus from Tacloban to Peter's resort, 5 hrs.(~140 pesos for seniors); the private taxi would cost ~3000 to 3500 pesos; if the small boat was not fixed, I would not be able to dive by myself; the resort gives 42 peso/ USD whereas, BDO bank gives 43.7 peso/ $; traveler checks are not usually honored except at BDO and only up to $200 w/ huge 200 peso fee/ ck.
the good: divers could luck out and stay in "dorm"ROOMS FOR 400 PESO/ NITE (LESS THAN $10 USD) WHICH HAS ONLY FAN (NO NOISE AND NO SINUS PROBLEM)-- 2 bath rooms to share (but there was only 1 girl who stayed a few nights); you could pick from a huge selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner and spend < or ~ 200 peso/ per lunch or dinner (the Panduit, canton was tasty and cost only 120 Ph peso; the diving was good but they took you to the same sites more than twice; some dive sites were wiped out from the floods;the dive masters and boat boys were good at their jobs. The other divers were good except for 2 beginner divers.
wish I had known: the whale shark trips were not worth it--very expensive (>3500 peso) and did not see a whale shark (whereas, in Moalboal I missed a whale shark by few minutes; the rain was supposed to be in June.

UW Photo Comments they have a large bucket for cameras except for the small boat (few divers); the boat boys and dive masters sort of cater to the photg.
