Comments The Atlantis resort is located in the lively and densely built town of Sabang which is part of greater Puerto Galera.

Atlantis handled the transfers to and from Manila. This includes about a two hour drive followed by a one hour boat ride. Both the van and boat were on time and provided excellent service.

Diving: This is a macro photographer’s paradise. Something interesting is seen on every dive. Diving is done from a small outboard boat, six divers max, although we usually had less than five. The dive shop is well run and all dives started promptly. There is a dive locker-room located on the main level close to the boats. Every guest has a dive locker and there are four rinse tanks for the different types of gear, from cameras to wet-suits. Hot water showers are also available. A large and well equipped camera room is available which has compressed air and 110V outlets as well as two computers. Most dive sites are less than 100 feet and dive duration is usually limited to a max of 50 minutes depending on depth. They offer five dives a day and all diving was done with a dive guide. Marine life is abundant including the elusive Blue Ring Octopus, which I saw on one of the night dives. They offer an optional at extra cost, three tank, day trip to Verde Island which is a must do and well worth the extra cost as the marine life is incredible there. Dive sites are abundant, I did 30 dives this trip and I don’t think I did more than one repeat. Dive guides: Jake, Thax, Rusty, Larry, soon to be dive guide Felix, and the rest of the dive team were excellent.

Accommodations: The rooms are clean and very accommodating. Each room has an air conditioner and ceiling fan. I found that I needed the A/C on a very limited basis as I spent little time in the room and the climate did not require it. Rooms were cleaned every day and sheets and towels were replaced as needed. The resort is located on a hill, so unless you are on the lower level you will be climbing several steps to your room. The staff is always available to carry your bags so you only need to transport yourself up and down the stairs.

Restaurant: Service and food were both excellent. Meals were served promptly and the food was delicious and expertly presented. Both the kitchen and wait staff were attentive and friendly.

Steve the manager (apparently onboard since spring 2015) has the entire operation running efficiently. He and his front desk staff were always available to handle any questions or issues.
