Comments We loved the trip!!!! Five of us went. Four were experienced divers and one received her certification while there. Her training was excellent. Her instructor was very attentive.
We spent 8 days diving. They allowed up to 5 dives a day, all from boats. The dive sites were less than 10 minutes away. The crew handled all our gear, we just had to show up. We had a DM just for us. The diving was so called "muck diving" though we would really call it sand diving. It was amazing. There were so many little and fascinating critters our dive guide found for us. We saw things we had never seen before. Every time he would write the name down on a slate so we would know what we were seeing. We also did 2 day trips to Apo island. The reefs there were gorgeous. It was well worth the ride. The reefs close to the resort were not very good, but the muck diving was what we wanted.
Atlantis offered land trips too. The trip to the market was fascinating and they fed us a huge, delicious meal while there. The whale shark encounter was too contrived. Juvenile whale sharks were hand fed from small boats. We wouldn't recommend it.
My 15 year old daughter loved the trip so much she wants to go back there to get her DM certification when she is 18.
The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The resort is not too big. The only complaint is that we had three teenagers in one room, and one had to sleep on a mattress on the floor.
Food was very good.
We traveled the week before Christmas. There was a total of 9 guests for a resort that can hold 70. Great time to vacation.
We would go back there tomorrow, if it weren't such a long trip!
