This is a very quiet and peaceful island. A great place for a restful vacation. The Manta Ray Bay Hotel is a very beautiful hotel with a great bar (a floating Malaysian Junk boat complete with canons)and excellent service. The main drawback in the area is NO TV! The Traders Ridge resort is also beautiful but a long way from the harbor up on the hill top. It has fabulous food! Great Mangrove & if ordered and tracked down prior to arrival the ULTIMATE DELIGHT-COCONUT CRAB! Fresh grown and picked daily unique sweet baby spinach & other spices. I ate their twice with the Mangrove crab. Awesome! I hit the typhoon season and one hit the Philippines and we had two days of rain so I was only able to dive two of four days. The food became my diving trip. The sharks were unique, the 10-12' black tips just kick back in the sand in chill. I was able to get up to about two feet on one local hang out shark. I saw about a dozen in the area and 6-turtles and a few unique soft corals. Mainly hard corals here. |
