Comments Papua Explorers is a top notch resort. The service is exceptional and the dive op is one of the best that I have experienced. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food was great. The location and setting was beautiful. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to anyone wanting to go to Raja Ampat. The trip from SFO was long and exhausting but pretty easy logistically. I would recommend this route rather than going through Jakarta.

UW Photo Comments I would give 5 stars for UWP if they would improve the lighting in the camera room and have dedicated camera baskets on the boats. The subject matter could be 5 star probably depending on the individual dive. The visibility was pretty poor on many of the dives. No fault of the resort of course and the current could be ripping which made photography a challenge.

Did you take anti-malaria meds before your trip?
By report author: Jim Willoughby in OR, US at Jun 07, 2016 15:35 EST
I did not. I did not have any issues with bugs at all on the trip. Even though I brought big spray I did not even use that.

I flew Garuda. Very nice plane and good service.
