If you are looking for an intimate and personal diving experience this is the place. Lodging options are plentiful and Bogdan can find you anything to fit your budget, wether on the Cays or across the channel on Utila. He can also set up any other activities you may be interested in. You can make your trip to order!
I chose to stay on the Cays for my last trip and this one also. For $25/night I had a small room with AC in the Lonestar Hotel. It totally met my needs as I was here for the diving. Also I enjoy being in a place with no motor vehicles and being able to get to know the local people. A friendly bunch indeed. Some were greeting me by name and don't recall ever meeting them. I guess the word gets out fast when you have a population of only about 500 people.

And the diving? Awesome! Dives are made off the vessel "Miss Cay" crewed by Captain Edgar and his son Captain Jeff. (When Edgar is out fishing which is the main occupation on the Cays.) Divemaster Mike led all of my dives. More like a buddy since I was the only diver most of the time. We did a lot of drifts. How rexaling! I am spoiled now. Mike is from the States and has lived in and about Utila for a long time.
He really knows his stuff like spotting nudibranchs, shrimp, and the smallest drumfish I have ever seen. Lots of Sting rays, Eagle rays, Moray's,lobster and the list is too long to post here.
We even got to swim with dolphins twice. We dived the less visited sites on the north side of Utila. We also got to some "adventure" dives scoping out some sites that Captain Edgar found while lobster diving. It is appropriately named "Edgars mound".
Bogdon offers the full line of courses and is an accomplished videographer and photojournalist.
Oh, almost forgot the closest nurse shark encounters I've ever had. Was filming one with my GoPro at the end of a pole when a shark decided to have a taste!
Got great teeth pix .
