Comments This was the first time I have dived in Hawaii in nearly 20 years. On this trip most of any diving I did was on the Kona Coast. It did not disappoint. The staff and the boat they used were both terrific. I used the private guide option which is an additional fee. It is worth it if you like your freedom and don't like diving with or following a group. This is especially true if you are a photographer.

Dive own profile no
Enforced diving restrictions They allow no solo diving ( none of the pro operators in Kona allow it as far as I know). The only way to really dive your own profile would probably be a private charter or use the private guide option.

UW Photo Comments They have a large rinse barrel for cameras. On normal 1/2 day trips which are run daily, they would be hard pressed to accommodate more than several divers with large SLR rigs. In my case I had a mirrorless rig which worked well. The crew was sensitive in handling the UW photo equipment. Please see my comment above in the use of the private dive guide option.
