Comments Bamboo Beach on the main Island of Fiji is about a 2 hour drive by taxi (included in our package) from the Nandi Airport, then a 10 minute boat ride to the small Island. This is a new resort, or rather an older resort which has been completely recreated. The setting and the views are beautiful. Our Air conditioned Bure was spacious with a fantasic view through a large picture window which one could see from the bed. There was a wonderful granite outdoor shower in a nicely landscaped private courtyard with a fruit bearing Guava tree. Double sinks were in the bathroom, and a King and Queen sized bed and overstuffed chairs in the room.
Meals were truely spectacular. This is no place to diet.
The diving was great, with for the most part pristine reefs and lots of fish. No evidence of bleaching and very mild currents. We did some drift dives, but usually returned to the boat. There were few short swims against stronge currents. The crew was always on time, knowledgable, and very eager to be helpful with information and with your gear. The boats were built for diving with very easy exit and entry and had heads and fresh water for showeroffs. The maximum was 12 people, but we usually had less. The rental BCs were new.
The level of service and the friendliness of the staff was excellent..the best I have experienced.
