Diving right off Susie's Plantation in Taveuni is terrific. We only did shore dives, because weather prevented us from taking the 20 minute small boat trip to Rainbow Reef. Reef very healthy, lots of fish, and excellent visibility. Snorkeling was also good. The accommodations were pretty much one star. Shower was somewhat funky, and the bures were basic, although some had nice views. Lots of low budget divers stay in the dorm, which is very cheap. The Bures were around $60 US. This is the only place in Taveuni that you can shore dive right into deep water. The food was nothing to write home about, but adequate. Not a fancy place, but laid back and a great setting. $30 US each way from the airport. The rental gear seemed pretty good. |
