Comments	The hotel and dive shop make the west end a perfect location. Westpunt is 45 minutes from the airport and the capital (shopping). It is very quiet and relaxing which is what my wife (non diver) and I like. We stayed in a 2nd story ocean front unit (one bedroom) very comfortable for the two of us, has a small kitchen perfect for breakfast and lunch. Get your groceries before you arrive. There is a large supermarket outside the airport. A car is a must. Meals at the hotel are pricey but very good. There are some great restaurants within walking distance/short drive from the hotel (ask the hotel or the dive shop). Sunshines and Mieje Landhaus come to mind. We have stayed there twice and both times the resort has not been crowded and the service has been great. Ocean Encounters is a great group of people. This last trip we got to know them better. They became dive buddies not dive operators. They know the area and move to sites as the weather and divers request. There are lot's of great snorkeling places that are short drives from the hotel, again a car is great. Curacao is tied for second as my best dive spot with Roatan, number one being Grand Turk.
