Comments	We dove by ourselves most days. The reefs in this area are spectacular and very close to the shop. maybe a 5-10 minute boat ride. Locals do fish the reefs so the fish population is less than across the channel at Cozumel. We saw the largest great 'cuda in a cleaning station we have ever seen. It was 6' feet long and 2ft thick. We all saw a very large school of juvenile 'cudas. Akumal means place of turtles in Mayan. We saw many very large green turtles who were very curious and friendly, upto 18 on one dive. Our guide has dove thses reefs for twenty years. He seemed to enjoy himself and thogh his english was even worse than our spanish he gave us great service all week. We also do the cenote Dos Ojos with the same shop and had a good experiance. Overall I would give the shop very high marks. The Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Very well kept, on the beach,a million dollar view, and very reasonably priced. Food prices were close to US prices and we had some fine meals here.
