Our first trip to Bonaire. Hard to imagine that any operation can be any more accomodating to serious divers than Buddy's Dive Resort in Bonaire. Boat diving was excellent and divemasters Murph and Zoo were the absolute best! Daytime water temp was 81 F top to bottom at most sites and 79 F at night. Visibility probably exceeded 100 ft on most dives, down to maybe 80 ft at Salt Pier. The "drive thru" part of Buddy's is a much better service than we anticipated. Shore diving in Bonaire is, of course, primo and after 6 intensive days of diving, we're anxious to get back for the gazillion sites we couldn't make this trip. The reef life was spectacular. The only negative we can think of has nothing to do with diving, but rather calling cards. Don't waste your money on a pre-paid calling card purchased in the US. We purchased one from "Is card", an internet company I wouldn't give another dime to! The card was non-refundable and an absolute waste because we could not find a phone on the island that would accept this card. Complaints to "Is" when we returned were basically answered with a 'too bad'. Pre-paid telephone calling cards can be easily purchased on the island and at very reasonable rates. Bon Dia! Michael & Cindy E. |
