Comments	My wife & I have been diving throughout the Caribbean for the past 25 years and we are always seeking out new ideas and activities to enhance our vacations. On our recent trip to Bonaire, we decided to try a novel concept for sailing, diving, and dining in Bonaire. The company is called Bonaire from the Sea and as its name implies, this is a great way to pack-in three very cool activities while riding the winds over the calm waters around Bonaire. This is my first-hand and only experience using Bonaire from the Sea. The Concept: Bonaire from the Sea marries diving, dining, and sailing in a perfect balance. All the best aspects of a dive vacation are optimized here. If you love diving, you definitely love being both above and below the water while being able to see the sights from the vantage-point of a sailboat. And if that were not enough, Bonaire from the Sea, offers up some of the best gourmet food I have ever eaten. They offer this experience for a half-day, full-day, or a multiple live-aboard option. The Boat: I do not know a lot about sailboats, but I know this is a very nice mono-hull sailboat which appears to be about 40 to 50 feet long. The boat is very clean with all of the modern navigation, communication & safety equipment on board. There is a galley, 3 or 4 cabins, a head, and plenty of room for our group of 4 to move around. The Crew: The owners/crew/captain/chef/dive guides are Rich & Sue Willis. Additionally, Rob is a jack of all trades, all around assistant, mate, and dive guide. All three of these people are genuinely kind-hearted, funny, and adventurous while spinning loads of interesting yarns of sea & land. They appear to truly enjoy each other’s company and really enjoy meeting and getting to know their customers for the day. Richard is the captain, sailor, dive instructor, & hilariously funny Brit. Sue is also British and Rich’s wife, a marvelous chef, and a Marine Biologist who studies the turtles of Bonaire. Rob is originally from Holland, but has diving experience from all over the world. The Excursion & Diving: On our trip, we chose to sail to the far north end of Bonaire and do our first dive at a dive site called ‘Carol’s Vision’. We set sail from the marina around 9:30am and took our time as we rode the gentle winds towards the Bonaire’s north end. During the early portion of our trip, they served up a light breakfast of scrumptious bread, butter, & scones with coffee & juice. We moored sometime around 12:00pm at dive site. The water was the typical gentle and calm waters of Bonaire. Rob led our group of four divers around the site taking a slow, Zen-like pace which allowed us to really enjoy the beauty of this site. Once back on the boat, we had a fresh water shower, dried off, and then ate a wonderful lunch of freshly seared tuna on a bed of greens. Afterwards we sailed about a half an hour to another dive site call ‘Bloodlet’. Sue led this one hour dive with the same gentle pace of the first dive. Once back onboard, we showered, changed to dry cloths and set sail back towards the marina at Kralendijk. While underway, Sue served up the most delicious tapas imaginable. We all sat around laughing and enjoying each other’s company while under the gorgeous canopy of stars from the night sky. We pulled into port around 7:30pm. We could not believe how fast our day had pasted. Our Experience: I do not have the words to express how memorable of an experience we had at Bonaire from the Sea. Every aspect of this day on the waters of Bonaire truly exceeded our expectations in every way. Not only did we have a great time, we experienced what we all are looking for … a great time, with great people, while enjoying life to its fullest.
