I spent two weeks in June, 2011 diving with Splash in Placencia, Belize.
It was my third trip to Belize in four years, but my first to southern
Belize.

June kicks off the rainy season and true to form it rained off and on the
entire trip. Luckily, it was almost always at night and never interfered
with diving. The prevailing winds made the water choppy enough to have a
few challenging exits back onto the boat but the staff was always there to
lend a hand.

Splash is probably the largest dive op in Placencia with three boats and a
fourth, for overnight trips, on the way. The boats are in excellent
condition. The staff is cross-trained so your boat captain one day may be
your dive guide the next.

As has always been my experience in Belize, the water was warm and viz was
good to excellent. The reef's in good shape and aquatic life is plentiful.
The ride out to the reef is about an hour. Lunch and surface intervals
are done on any one of the numerous cayes in the area.

The bottom line is I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Splash to anyone
thinking of diving out of Placencia.
