Comments	Itza Lodge is on a small private island. The dives are mainly walls with slow drifts. The Blue Hole is only a 10 min boat ride so we dove it before breakfast one morning. The staff is very competent, friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and made to order. The accommodations are "rustic" but comfortable. Electricity is intermittent and the fresh water is stored rain water...Showers are quick and unheated. If you're looking for great Belize diving off the beaten path, Itza Lodge is for you...bring your own "night life"

I recently returned from Itza. Truly outstanding diving! However, Itza Lodge has issues. The weekly rental boat (Itza doesn't own it's own boat- you won't know what you'll be diving from) goes to the mainland for 4 days weekly, so no diving Wed. or Sat. You can only dive Thur. & Fri. if you go with adjacent Hurrican Divers. If you come for a week, you can only dive 5 days. Meals weren't "to order". It was always cook's choice. The kitchen staff were great. No hot water. Ice is precious and essentially rationed.
