The reefs were not in as good a shape as we remembered. Not many fish or color, especially when compared to Cozumel or Honduras. It may just have been the dive site selection by the divemasters. We had signed up and paid for in advance for 6 2-tank morning dives with the option of purchasing a 1-tank afternoon dive. When we got there we were told that the resort had overbooked and that all they could do for us was to give us 2-tank afternoon dives. Their attitude basically was take it or leave it. Also, we were promised unlimited shore diving but unfortunately they did not have any extra tanks for us to use. On one dive we discovered that our weights and integrated weight pouches had been placed on another boat that had already left. The staff did very little to help us get weights. What we had to do was to pilfer another group's weights. We took a trip to Little Cayman to dive the Bloody Bay Wall which was beautiful. Unfortunately, the dive staff was in a hurry to get back and limited each of the 2 dives to 40 minutes. We dived Nitrox. Each tank was $12. The resort accommodations are starting to show some wear. Some of our group had nonfunctioning air conditioning and some did not have TVs. The food was wonderful and the dining room staff was great. They opened a new bar on our second day there. It was very nice. Our overall experience there was unsatisfactory as you might guess. We have been to the Brac before and stayed next door at the Brac Reef Resort. Our experience there was much superior to the Divi. When we go back we will definately stay at the Brac Reef. |
