[None]The turks head Inn was a former governors mansion that has been a
hotel for several years. There is a new manager, who took over a few
weeks before we arrived and he is very service oriented.
The food is the best on the island, but is expensive if ordered ala carte.
We opted for the meal plan $40 US dollars/day which is a great deal, we
had lobster for dinner most nights! The hotel service was great. The
night of our night dive we were going to return after the kitchen was
closed so we asked for a recommendation for Klaus(the manager). He told
us he would keep the kitchen open until we returned. When we did, they
did not rush us, but gave us a glass of wine, told us to shower while they
prepared our meals. The dive operation With Sea Eye was less sucessful.
No one ever checked our C cards, there was not oxygen on the boats, and
the boats were left unattended while we dove with the divemaster who also
served as boat captain. He was very good at finding small things- we saw
several seahorses, and was generally pleasant. There were 2 divers who
come back yearly just to dive with him. The boats left from shore to the
close dive sites. Back roll into the water, long dive times, all dive
times were over and hour. The coral is beautiful and very healthy, large
schools of fish, no sharks seen, althoug one diver we met had seen a lemon
shark, and manta the week before. I would consider one of the other dive
operations. The island is very interesting, alot of abandoned buildings,
no tourist spots, no souvenier shops. This is not a place for non-diver.
I would recommend the turks and caicos museum, try and mmet the curator who
is a very interesting guy.
