Comments It being my first time in Key West since Sea Hunt was on the air I couldn't pass up the chance to dive even though the rest of my party didn't.

Signing up and coordinating with Captains Corner was easy. Smooth, well run operation with good communications. The boat was fine, seemingly well maintained with the usual amenities. The staff was super friendly and helpful throughout the trip.

The clientele was all new diivers except for me. I was paired up with two guys who had just completed their O/W certifications.

Captains Corner run wreck dives in the morning and reef dives in the afternoons. I opted for the reef dives. The pre-dive briefings were complete. They were accompanied by plenty of jokes and banter with the rest of the crew.

I hope there was a lot of stuff to see on the wreck dives because the coral was almost totally dead. As to fishies I was surprised to see any given the reef condition. There were some, surprisingly mostly bigger species... Several barracudas, a few blackfin groupers, a free swimming southern stingray, a midnight parrotfish (at 20'!).

Those new divers are in for a treat at almost every other dive destination they are likely to go to.

I gave the dive op a 3 because they are doing their best with a bad situation. Maybe the wreck dives are really something special.
